EARLY GRAVES: New Song Available For Download
August 14, 2008Northern California's EARLY GRAVES (formerly APIARY) has posted a new song called "Safety Net Acrobats" at this location. The track comes off the group's new album, "We: The Guillotine", which is scheduled for release on August 19 via Ironclad Recordings in North America. The CD was recorded in Nashville with producer Steve Austin (CONVERGE, LAMB OF GOD, DEADGUY) and is described by guitarist and founding member Chris Brock as "dirty and punk" and "a testament to who we are as people. It's fast like the Millennium Falcon, aggressive like a pack of hyenas, and hopes to never be compared to this stupid fucking fake death and thrash movement going on. It has guest appearances on vocals and guitar by Steve Austin on 'Last Name: Porter' and 'Here There Be Monsters' and another vocal appearance by Eugene Robinson of OXBOW on 'Here There Be Monsters' and their parts are haunting. The album is ferocious. 'We: The Guillotine' sounds like a crash course in burning out to me. Expect an all out war on your ears for 40 minutes without brees, breakdown after breakdown or Yngwie wannabe guitar playing. You can expect music from the heart."
Vocalist Makh Daniels stated: "We just wanted to create our version of an early punk record. Like how it was when we were kids first getting into punk, metal and hardcore. No frills. No gloss. No bullshit. We had no interest whatsoever in creating fake-ass death metal breakdowns or tired arpeggio sweeps or whatever stupid ass bands think the 'IN' thing is these days."
